I'm having 12 year old breast implants removed and want a Breast Lift - should I have the lift before or after losing 25 pounds?

Q:

I want my 12 year old saline implants removed. I have gained 25 pounds since getting them 12 years ago. I want a Breast Lift but I have heard that I should have the implants removed and wait until I lose all the weight and then have the lift.  What do you suggest?

A:

Good question. I would recommend you lose the majority of the weight before performing any of the procedures. I would not recommend doing the procedures in stages. I would recommend you have the implants removed and the lift at the same time but only after the majority of the weight gain is corrected so you do not affect the lift. I think there is no benefit to doing the procedures apart.
