At 19 years of age and size DD breasts, am I eligible for a breast reduction?

Q:

I am 19 years old and wondering if I am eligible for breast reduction.  I cannot go without wearing a bra because my breasts are very heavy.  I cannot exercise for more than 10 minutes as my breasts hurt from bouncing.  I also have back pain when walking.  I am presently a size DD (double D) and pushing toward the next size up.  It feels like I am carrying 20 pound weights on my chest.  Please advise.

A:

At 19, your breasts should be about at their maximum growth. If they have been a stable size for the last 6 months, then you are a candidate for a breast reduction. If your breasts are still growing, then you should wait until they stabilize. Meanwhile you need a firm cupped bra with wide (at least 2 inch) superior straps and wide, nonelastic bands. I would also suggest having someone who is knowledgeable fit you. This may be a little more expensive, but the comfort will be well worth it.
