Can biopolymer gel be removed from my lip?

Q:

Hello. I had biopolymer gel injected into my upper lip in the amount of 1 gr. It looks artificial and seems to have plumped up the area above the lip. I would like to have it removed.  Can this be done and how much it will cost? Thank you.

A:

Permanent fillers and non FDA approved fillers are very difficult to remove. Only surgical excision can be used but this may leave some deformity that needs to be repaired at a later stage.
