At bra size 38DD, 5'6" tall and weight of 180 pounds, am I a candidate for Breast Reduction?

Q:

I am 5'6" and weigh 180 pounds.  My breasts are heavy and they are causing me back pain (my breasts are size 38 DD).  Am I a candidate for breast reduction - I do not have any insurance to cover this.

A:

You are a candidate for breast reduction if your breasts are heavy, interfere with activities, cause shoulder, neck, arm and/or back pain, or are just larger than you would like them to be. If you would like the procedure paid by insurance, you will have to meet the insurance company's guidelines. The only way to know these is to ask them. If you do not qualify, you can still have the procedure and pay for it yourself. If you do not have the amount of the cost readily available, the procedure can be financed through companies like CareCredit. Discuss the options with your Plastic Surgeon.
