Can breast implants be reduced in size?

Q:

Can breast implants done in 1985 be reduced in size? They are saline.

A:

Sure, breast implants can be reduced in size. Consider a consult with one of the many members of the ASAPS in your area. They are experts in cosmetic breast surgery. Best,

Gary R Culbertson, MD, FACS

A:

Dorothy,

Thank you for your question.  The saline implants that are in place cannot be reduced in size.  You certainly can have smaller breast implants but will have to have new ones placed that are a smaller size.
