Should I get a breast reduction for size 38 HH breasts that are causing me back pain, neck pain and shoulder pain?

Q:

I'm 20 years old and my bra size is 38 HH.  In the past year my breasts have grown two cups.  I have a lot of pain in my back, in my neck and my shoulders.  I also have deep dark bruise marks in my shoulders from bra straps.  I love to be very active and I usually have lots of energy but I get winded and tired quickly.  I am a young lady with physical and mental disabilities.  Should I get a breast reduction?  I'm also curious as to whether or not an insurance company would help with the cost?

A:

Only you can decide on whether to have a breast reduction or not. You are, however, almost the ideal person for a breast reduction. The only thing that keeps you from being ideal is the growth of the breasts over the last two years. When that growth plateaus, you will then be an ideal candidate. The only way to determine insurance is to ask your company for their criteria, and then, if you meet them, to have your plastic surgeon write and send pictures asking if they would approve you.
