Can you correct a permanent bump on a nostril resulting from squeezing blackheads?

Q:

A couple of years ago I noticed a bump on my left nostril that I was not born with.  The bump is hard and is in the exact same place where I used to repeatedly squeeze blackheads (I only squeezed blackheads on one side of my nose).  Is the bump scar tissue resulting from squeezing, and can anything be done to correct it?

A:

Thank you for your question. This can represent many problems. If there has been repeated pressure applied to the cartilage, it may be scarred in an unfavorable position. There could also be some sort of cyst or lesion where you had the issue for several years.
