What are the dangers of sun exposure after laser without sunscreen?
A patients skin after laser ablation or resurfacing is more susceptible to sun damage as it heals and regenerates. Precautions against sun burns and tanning are usually required for at least 6 to 8 weeks following such procedures. Moles or nevi in areas of laser ablation or resurfacing should be assessed prior to such procedures to determine if they have a malignant potential. Start with a member of the ASAPS to answer your questions and address all your concerns. They are experts in these procedures and skin care maintenance. Best,
