When should I expect my final result from breast reduction surgery?

Q:

I went into surgery being a 32G. It is now approximately 6 weeks since I have been out of surgery, and I am still too big to even fit into a D cup. My plastic surgeon and I have came to an agreement that a full B or small C would be an appropriate size for me. I am starting to get a little frustrated because I am still bigger than I want to be. I am 18 years old, if that plays a role with anything.

A:

The final appearance of the breast fallowing a breast reduction usually takes about 3 months to achieve. Remember the operation should mainly be considered functional in nature. Hopefully, your neck/ back pain, rashes under your breasts and shoulder arthralgia and/or grooving are improved.

Often going from a G cup to a B cup would require Free Nipple Grafting which results in permanent loss of nipple sensation and inability to breast feed. Consider addressing your concerns with your surgeon at your next post operative visit. if you are not satisfied with the responses then, request a copy of your operative report. Take this with you for a second option. Consider a member of the ASAPS in your area. They are experts at corrective breast surgery. Best,
