Can under eye fat grafting lumps & bumps be removed?

Q:

I had fat grafting under the eyes and I have lumps and bumps even after 6 months. I still have swelling which isn't hard to the touch. Is there a way to remove these lumps? Kindly suggest. Thanks.

A:

The answer is yes but, it usually in our experience requires surgical excision. Liposuction with very very small cannulas has only worsened the chronic edema and discoloration common in the perioccular area following such procedures in our experience. Consider seeking out an ASAPS member in your area that specializes in perioccular fat grafting. Hope this is of assistance. Best,
