Is an under eye lid procedure right for me and what is the approximate cost?

Q:

I am 31 years old.  I have always had puffy eyes.  I've tried everything under the sun to reduce them but nothing works.  As I get older I now have wrinkling and while I look 25, my eyes (when on a bad day) make me look so much older.  How do I know if eyelid surgery is right for me and what is the cost?

A:

That is a great question. Yes, seasonal allergies and chronic sinus conditions can contribute to puffy eyes. Consider starting with your family practice physician and request a referral to an Allergist. If the Allergist deems that your condition is merely cosmetic or hereditary, consider a consult with one of the many members of the ASAPS. A combined transconjuntivial bletharoplasty with laser ablation of your perioccular wrinkles may just be the ticket.

Best,

Gary R Culbertson, MD, FACS
