After eyelid surgery, my right eyelid is drooping down over my eye. What to do?

Q:

I had eyelid upper eyelid surgery on both eyes due to sagging upper lids distorting my vision more so on the right. My eye, however, was totally open and not distorted by any means and now 10 days after surgery my right eye is covered somewhat by the upper lid. What can I do?

A:

First, please address your concerns with your surgeon. This may represent post operative swelling, pre existing upper eyelid ptosis, etc. The later is easily corrected.

 Best,
