Q:

I'm interested in getting buttock augmentation. I have been reading up on the procedure. I cannot afford any kind of implants. Can the buttock augmentation be done solely with fat injections?

A:

Absolutely.  This is my preferred technique.  The volume available for augmentation is determined by the amount of excess fat present at the time of surgery.  This can be determined during your consultation with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.

A:

Buttock (gluteal) augmentation is commonly achieved with fat grafts using injection methods and less commonly with rearrangement of fatty tissue flaps in massive weight loss patients.  Methods of fat harvesting and grafting vary tremendously.  This procedure is generally referred to by the public as the "Brazilian Butt Lift."  Click the following link for a youtube video of results.  www.youtube.com/watch

Fat injections to the buttocks are my preferred method to augment the buttock.  The only limitation is how much fat your body has to donate to make the buttocks the size you desire!

A:

Buttock augmentation by way of fat transfer (also known as Brazilian buttock lift) can certainly give excellent results in the right patient.  Good candidates must have enough donor fat to transfer to the buttock area.  Usually this fat is harvested from the lower back, abdomen, flanks (love handles) and thighs and transferred into the deep gluteal muscle/tissues.  This technique can really reshape the entire lower back, waist and buttock area. Most plastic surgeons in the US favor fat transfer over implants because of the more natural, supple feel of fat.  Gluteal implants are used in very thin patients who do not have sufficient donor fat.

Consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to determine if you are a good candidate for this procedure.
