Is fat transfer breast augmentation a choice for me and is it sanctioned by ASAPS?

Q:

I am a small size A cup and have considered breast implants.  I'm really only looking for a small cup  increase, and want something natural looking and feeling.  I've read a lot about fat transfer procedures.  Would this be a choice for me and is it sanctioned by the ASAPS?

A:

Fat transfer to the breast is an evolving technique in plastic surgery.  The greatest amount of clinical data regarding the procedure are from studies/practitioners who are outside the USA. It appears that the combination of breast suction device called BRAVA (http://www.mybrava.com/home.asp) and fat grafting to the breast produce the best overall results.  Anticipate an increase of one cup size per setting of surgery, multiple procedures are often required and a waiting period between each procedure of 8 to 12 weeks.  These types of procedures are currently being reviewed by the ASPS Patient Safety Committee.

Best,
