Is it possible to use fat from the upper arms for breast augmentation?

Q:

I am considering fat transfer surgery for breast enhancement. I have large arms for my size and I was wondering if the fat can be removed from this area and used to augment my breasts.

A:

Rachel,

Normally, it does not matter significantly where the fat is harvested from to graft the body. However, in the arm area you may require an arm lift to prevent post operative sagging of the skin in this area. There could be additional expenses associated with additional procedures added to your fat grafting procedure. Consider addressing your concerns with the surgeon who will be performing the fat grafting to your breast. Best,
