What does forehead lift surgery entail?

Q:

I want to get a forehead lift but need to know more about the procedure.  What does it entail?

A:

May I suggest you start by visiting the ASAPS website at www.surgery.org click on Procedures and this will bring you to choosing the Forehead Lift in the Head section. There is a good deal of information regarding the Forehead Lift beginning with if you are a candidate for the procedure, the surgical technique itself, and then what you can expect post-operatively. Typically my patients have a rapid recovery from the procedure.

Gary R Culbertson, MD, FACS

A:

A forehead lift is now done through small incisions in the scalp where the incisions are essentially hidden. Some are done with an endoscope and some blindly, depending on the surgeon preference. There is usually no bruising except below the eyes where it can be easily camouflaged with a little make-up. Most people are back to normal activities within 24-48 hours. Make sure whomever you see about this is experienced in this as well as total facial rejuvenation so you are more likely to have your expectations met.
