Can Hidrolipoclaisa be done in the US?

Q:

Hidrolipoclasia is done in Mexico, can it be done in the U.S?  It's injecting saline to break up fat and transferring the fat to other parts of the body, then going in for ultrasound massage treatments every week for a month. I also know there is fat grafting, what is the cost of that?

A:

Hidrolipoclasia is allegedly the ultrasonic treatment of localized fat excess performed under local anesthesia. A very similartype of procedure, ultrasound assisted liposuction (UAL),  is performed throughout the USA in almost every major city on a daily basis. Best,

Gary R Culbertson, MD, FACS

A:

This "treatment" is not approved by the FDA, and in the subdeveloped countries is used by not plastic surgeons to reduce localized body fat with a lot of complications like infections. The only treatments recommended to lose weight are lower calorie diet and exercise;. For localized fat, Liposuction.
