Is there a limit to the number of sessions of non ablative laser for acne scars?

Q:

Is there a limit to the number of sessions of non ablative laser (Palomar 1540) one can get to treat acne scars? Should I continue with the sessions as long as there is improvement? Is it safe to take multiple sessions?

A:

Since the laser is non ablative, I believe it should cause no harm. However, ask the person treating you. I do not believe that acne scars can be treated with non ablative lasers. Acne scars are very difficult to treat even with an ablative CO2 laser.
