How long for a nose surgery to heal?

Q:

I had a nose implant and is one month already but it stills hurt around the bridge. Is there an infection?

A:

Soreness even 6 to 8 weeks following placement of a nasal implant can be common. Infection can also be indicated by persistent redness, drainage and fever. Please address your concerns with your nasal surgeon at an office visit. Or, consider one of the many of the members of the ASAPS for an evaluation.

Best, Gary R Culbertson, MD, FACS

A:

Will need to examine you before commenting. There can be soreness for a few weeks even without any infection. You should go back to your surgeon for an examination.
