How long is the recovery time after augmentation?

Q:

How long is the recovery time after augmentation?

A:

Recovery fro breast augmentation is usually very quick. Patients are functional within 24 hours.

However the recovery from any surgery would depend on the anesthesia, the approach (incision ) used, and the skill of the surgeon (how much trauma to the tissue). Above the muscle implant is less traumatic and less painful than below the muscle implants.

A:

The recovery following a Breast Augmentation is directly related to the extent of your surgery to correct and enhance your breasts. Woman can have falling of the nipple called breast ptosis, asymmetry of the breasts, shrinkage of the breast with pregnancy/ weight loss & gain called evolution, etc. These issues are normally addressed and corrected at the time of your surgery.

Most patients can drive within one to days, shower the next day and resume heavy exercise or exertion like golf and tennis within one month. Do your Homework before your surgery and consider discussing your recovery with your surgeon. Hopefully, your breast surgeon will be a member of the ASAPS. Best.
