How long is the recovery time and when can I return to work after a breast reduction?

Q:

Hi, I am a registered nurse, and due to the nature of my job, (lifting, pulling, bathing) how soon can I return to work after the surgery? Thanks

A:

As a RN you should be checked for MRSA before your surgery with a nasal swab/ culture. Next, remember, you are going to have a Breast Reduction once in your life? Do not be in a great hurry to get back to work. Anticipate a leave of at least 3 to 4 weeks.

Best,
