How long must I wait before I can allow my breasts to get wet in the shower after surgery?

Q:

I had breast augmentation on Oct. 24th and the doctor is saying not to allow breasts to get wet for 4 weeks. Is this true?

A:

I believe you should follow your doctors instructions. He/She knows what they did and what precautions need to be taken

A:

Each surgeon should give particular instructions to their patients. In my case, I usually allow them to have a regular shower, a week after surgery.

A:

By all means follow the instructions of the surgeon who performed your breast augmentation.  Your surgeon understands exactly what was done during your surgery and is the best person to advise you for follow-up care.
