Migrain, Botox and breastfeeding, is it safe?

Q:

I have debilitating migraines which are greatly improved with Botox. I am wondering if I can go back to my course of treatments and still keep breastfeeding? I would be unable to care effectively without the treatment so am wondering if I should give up breastfeeding or if it would be ok.

A:

No, Breastfeeding & Botox are not OK. Breast feeding is one of the contraindications to Botox administration as is pregnancy. Best,
