Would would be the best option to fix a sagging stomach with many small stretch marks?

Q:

After my first son was born, my tummy had been very stretched out.  As a result of this first pregnancy I have many small stretch marks all around my tummy and sides, and minor sagging of the stomach.  What would be the best option to fix this?

A:

Unfortunately, there is not a great method for the complete removal of stretch marks. Laser does assist in the reduction of the stretch marks but, usually will not remove them completely.

An examination would be best to determine what would exactly correct your concerns. It is possible a tummy tuck may be a solution providing you are done having children. Consider a consult with a member of the ASAPS in your area to address your concerns.

Best,

Gary R Culbertson, MD, FACS
