Pain in left breast 6 weeks after surgery - 18 months on this discomfort remains?

Q:

I had breast enlargement surgery in 2010.  6 wks after surgery I noticed rippling in the breast (non visible) and discomfort when wearing a bra around this region. I still have it 18 months on. I have been to see my surgeon 3 times to which he told me it may be my nerves and the rippling is because I have thin skin and they cant feel anything wrong. I'm worried it's not my nerves. I am so unhappy as I live in discomfort everyday, I'm only relieved when I remove my bra but even then it still doesn't feel right

When a breast implant is placed in a female patient that exceeds the base diameter of the breast folds and wrinkles are more common/ visible. This is obviously more common with larger implants. It appears to be more noticeable with certain large smooth saline implants.  Getting rid of these folds and wrinkles can be tough and rather expensive. Some plastic surgeons place a very expensive material called synthetic dermis while others will switch the type of implant (i.e. saline to silicone). Consider one of the many breast implant specialists that are members of the ASAPS to address your concerns. They are experts in this area of breast surgery. Best,
