Am I a potential candidate for breast reduction surgery?

Q:

I am 22 years old 5'4, and about 150lbs. My breast are a size 38DD. I carry most of my weight in my chest. I have been having back issues for about a year due to my breasts. It's hard for me to sleep at times and I also get a rash every once in a while in between my breasts and sometimes under them. I didn't start having problems until my breasts increased in size. I don't have insurance anymore so I am a little stuck on figuring out what I should do about this.

A:

You seem to be an excellent candidate for breast reduction. Lack of insurance is no reason to not proceed with the surgery. At least half of the people I do breast reductions on pay for it themselves due to lack of being able to get the procedure covered by an insurance company. If your symptoms are as bad as you say, then you just need to find a way to afford the procedure the same as buying a car or paying rent or a house payment.
