Is it possible to re-construct a toe?

Q:

When I was 11 months old, my first toe along with metatarsal from left foot was removed because of some infection. Now I am 23 years old. I basically have no problem with my foot but I am curious is it possible to reconstruct the toe? If yes, please specify the procedure as well.

A:

Rahul,

It is indeed a possibility but, could involve many surgical procedures with an outcome that is less than optimal for you. It might be best to adapt to your condition.

Best,
