WHICH IS SAFER AS A FACIAL FILLER JUVEDERM OR RESTYLANE?? WHICH IS ABSORBED FASTER?.

Q:

I Have had breast cancer and went for a Radiotherapy & chemo treatment. IS it safe to do fillers on my nasolabial and forehead?..If yes, which is safer...Juvederm or Restylane??? thank you

A:

Both Juvederm and Restylane are very safe facial fillers and either would be good for the Naso-labial and forehead areas you mention. Juvederm is the longest lasting, in my hands lasting an average of 10 months where Restyland lasts about 6.

A:

It is certainly safe to use either product with no worries regarding your cancer history. the products you mentioned are both hyaluronic acid. This is a natural product which we find in our own skin. the difference between the products is how much hyaluronic acid they contain and how tightly they are bound to each other. Juvederm has more hyaluronic acid and is bound to itself more tightly which makes it last longer. As the products are slightly different they can be used in different places. In highly mobile areas like around the mouth I prefer juvederm. seek out a board certified plastic surgeon to help you with your decision and good luck.
