Can skin resurfacing eliminate age spots on the face?
The exact nature of your brown skin spots would determine the most appropriate treatment. Often a laser can quickly ablate or remove such a lesion. A more economical approach may be a chemical peel. Consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who is a member of ASAPS for the best treatment.

There are many ways to treat brown "age spots." These are usually (>90%) from sun exposure, but the first step is to determine their cause. If they are from the sun, I usually recommend a skin care system, such as Obagi Nu-Derm, to treat, not only the brown spots, but the other sun damage, including crinkling and clogged pores, and protect the skin from more damage and, thus, more brown spots. If just treating the brown, I usually use an IPL that targets the brown and has no down time. Other lasers and peels also work, but have increased down time. If the spots are not from the sun, then the exact cause will determine the treatment.
