Should I get my skin treatments before or after my surgery?

Q:

I plan to undergo rhinoplasty, Smartlipo (laser lipo to my jowl and chin area), laser skin resurfacing and rosacea IPL laser treatment. I am wondering whether I should do the laser skin treatments before or after the surgery? If i do my skin treatments before the surgery will it have been a waste as I will then be scarred from the surgery... and maybe the surgery will disrupt my skin and rosacea again? But I if I do my skin treatments after surgery will they disrupt the healing process?

A:

You are correct. Sometimes Rosacea can be worsened with the stress of surgery. It might be best to have your laser ablation treatments after your surgical procedures.

 Best,
