Skull reconstruction requirements, recovery, and cost

Q:

What would the surgery be for getting your skull shape corrected?

A:

One needs more detailed information to answer the question.

Consult a plastic surgeon with cranio-facial training

A:

Reshaping the human skull can be quite extensive and expensive procedures that can require a team approach of not only plastic surgeons but also neurosurgeons. Normally, this type of procedure could be covered by an insurance carrier.

The type of surgeon that performs this procedure is called a Craniofacial surgeon. Please Do Your Homework and make sure they are part of team of professionals that will address your concerns and correct your issues safely. May I suggest you start with a Member of the ASPS who is a member of the American Society of CranioFacial Surgery- ASCFS (http://www.ascfs.org/). Best,
