Is there technology now to rebuild eyebrows?

Q:

I was born with a large birthmark on my eyebrow. When I was 3 or 4 in the 80's I had an operation which took a chunk of skin from the back of my head, and put it in the place of the birthmark. I now have a scar where they grafted and a very thin strip of hair. I'm wondering if there's technology now to rebuild eyebrows and how much it would be. Thanks.

A:

 Steve,

Yes, hair can be transplanted to the area to produce an eyebrow. But, the appearance and maintence (trimming). can be less than optimal. Most patients in this situation elect to have the eyebrow tattooed.

 Best,
