Q:
Will the results of a breast augmentation be affected if I have the procedure done first and then proceed to have another baby?
I want to have breast augmentation done within the next couple of months. However, I plan on having another baby in the next few years. If I have the breast augmentation done first before I have the baby, will the results of the augmentation then be ruined after the baby is born? I don't want to spend the money and then need for them to be redone.
A:
If you have breast augmentation and then have a baby, then your result may be affected. I have had women whose breasts did not change much after having the baby and they did not need any revisional surgery. Other women have needed larger implants to fill up the loose skin from loss of their natural breast tissue from pregnancy and breast feeding. Other women have needed a breast lift. It really depends on how large your breasts become with pregnancy and whether you breast feed or not.
Generally, I do not recommend breast augmentation if you plan on having a baby within a year.

Q:
Is liposuction procedure safe to have only 3 months after having a tummy tuck?
Is it safe to have liposuction 3 months after having a tummy tuck?
A:
It depends on what area you are having the liposuction performed. If you are considering liposuction of the tummy area, after a tummy tuck, I might recommend waiting till about 6 months after the tummy tuck surgery to see how everything has healed before going back to doing liposuction of the tummy again.

Q:
How would I know if the wrong implants were put in when I had Breast Augmentation to correct asymmetry?
I recently had breast augmentation to correct asymmetry. I had a 475 cc implant placed in my left breast and a 500 cc implant placed in my right breast but I have a feeling the surgeon placed the wrong implant in each side. How do I find out for sure if this is the case? If I am right that the surgeon put the wrong implants in, how do I bring it up to him and what can be done to fix the issue without costing me a lot?
A:
First of all, your surgeon will have the serial numbers and the model number of the implants that were used and the surgeon's staff can give you the numbers. I will also let you know that a 25 cc difference is not that much and often most patients or surgeons will not notice the difference of 25 cc .
If you wish the implants changed to different sizes, I might advise waiting for about one month after the surgery, to allow the implants to settle and see if the difference is that noticeable. Usually, if the difference is noticeable, the surgeon will give you a break on the price to redo the procedure.

Q:
After losing 100 lbs. through bariatric surgery, will a tummy tuck make my stomach flat if I still have fat in the stomach area?
I had Bariatric surgery in 2000 and lost over 100 pounds. I presently weigh 175 pounds and am 5 feet tall. My stomach is still very large and seems full of fat, (not just loose skin to pull). Without losing any more weight, will a tummy tuck make my stomach flat?
A:
A tummy tuck will improve your stomach but whether it will be completely flat, only a consultation with a plastic surgeon will give you that answer. If you still have internal visceral fat, then a tummy tuck will not make your stomach flat; only further weight loss will improve this.

Q:
With facial issues needing work done and skin tightening, will I have a natural look after the surgery?
My face seems to have fallen into deep lines on both sides of my mouth creating a sag. I have a "gaddle"under my chin. There seems to be a muscle that runs from the center of my lower front teeth down to my voice box (I have had this all of my life). It seems like the top of my face does not match the bottom. Can these issues be fixed without having that horrid obvious "done" look? In other words, will I have a natural look after the surgery?
A:
You can definitely achieve a natural look after facelift/necklift surgery. Discuss your aesthetic concerns with your plastic surgeon and be realistic and you should be able to achieve your goals.
