Practice Philosophy

Maryland plastic surgeon Dr. Dean Kane is a leader in his field. His extensive training, board certifications, professional affiliations and years of experience set him apart from most other cosmetic surgeons in Baltimore, Maryland and beyond.

Another unique aspect of Dr. Kane's credentials is his firm belief in the value of non-surgical rejuvenation. In fact, he and Lauri Kane have spent a great deal of time and energy to research and test a variety of non-invasive treatments for their patients. Surgical Facility

Our cosmetic surgery practice in Maryland is located in a modern, 3,000 square-foot office (complete with lots of free parking) just a block off the Baltimore beltway, making it easily accessible from just about anywhere. Our spacious office—as inviting as a living room—is not only beautiful, but also recognized as one of the top surgical facilities in the state of Maryland. Since opening in 1990, we have continually been recognized as plastic surgery leaders in Baltimore. We were recently designated the National BOTOX® Cosmetic Training Center in the state and were hand picked to be a premier Restylane® injection facility. Our center also features a state-of-the-art surgical suite for those who wish for a more comfortable, private setting. Whatever your needs, you may rest assured that here you will be in great hands. For those patients requiring extra care, Dr. Kane maintains active privileges at a nearby Baltimore Hospital. We have added 1800 square feet of clinical space including three new examination rooms, an expanded new operating suite, recovery and pre-op room and treatment room. Our Gallery d'Artes now offers an international exhibition of oils, glicees, watercolors, acrylics and other modern paintings in our updated Center for Cosmetic Surgery & MediSpa. Our MediSpa has expanded to include two active aesthetician services six days weekly in a "Zen-like" comfort setting offering growing services with hot and cold stone therapies, hair laser reduction, oxygen skin care, face-neck-shoulder-hand-and-foot-massage and paraffin therapies, photo-dynamic levulan and blue light modalities as well as our more traditional Advanced Skin Health services.

The Center for Cosmetic Surgery and Medi-Spa in Baltimore is unique as they provide a husband, plastic surgeon Dr. Dean Kane and wife, Lauri Kane practice. Their Maryland Center offers  a warm and caring approach in cosmetic surgery in a very sophisticated beautiful and homey like setting. While Dr. Kane and Lauri most often agree, there are times each offers a different perspective that gives the patient two very viable options in choosing the right cosmetic approach. The Kane’s have been married for 33 years and have worked together over 20 years together in their Maryland Center for Cosmetic Surgery to give their patients a genuine caring approach to all their rejuvenation needs.

Dr. Kane always puts the safety of the patient first and foremost and is always compassionate in his approach in the care of his patients. So he gets excellent results while being conservative for the safety of the patient. 

Dr. Kane will use cutting edge technology when he believes it is appropriate, but will also go with the traditional when that is appropriate. The bottom line is that each patient gets very individual approaches and Dr. Kane tries very hard to match the approach with the patient.

The ying and yang of there is Center is Lauri Kane’s role  to provide the woman’s touch for all their patients.  Lauri first sees the patient and truly listens to what their issues and concerns. She gets an overall assessment about the patient, health history, social history, emotional issues, and financial capabilities. By the time Dr. Kane enters the room, Lauri figures out what are the best approaches for the patient. Lauri becomes the patient advocate. The patient knows that Lauri truly listened to what she wants and explains what the patient wants to Dean. The patients can rely on Lauri to be honest with her opinions and help her focus on what she came in for. “I am very easy going and caring about all our patient needs and they know that they can call me for any problems or questions any time.”
