Dr. Core has been certified by the American Board of Surgery as well as the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Professional Background

Dr. Core is originally from Arkansas where he attended undergraduate school at the University of Arkansas and later medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Dr. Core completed full training in general surgery at Flushing Hospital Medical Center, an affiliate of Einstein University in New York City, New York. As a practicing general surgeon he was a member of the teaching faculty at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma until later developing an interest in plastic surgery. Dr. Core is member of the American Association of Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Core trained in plastic surgery at the world renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and subsequently came to Birmingham, Alabama where he was a Clinical Instructor in plastic surgery for the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Core later served as Chief of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans until returning in 1996 to make Birmingham his permanent home. He lives with his wife, Heidi, and three sons in Vestavia

Dr. Core has numerous articles in Plastic Surgery literature and is a regular presenter and teacher at the Plastic Surgery meetings around the world. Dr. Core's long training and experience give him a broad range of expertise in the field of aesthetic surgery.
