Board Certification

Dr. Urban is Board Certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is licensed to practice medicine in Colorado, Kentucky, and Illinois.

Professional Background

Dr. Gregory Urban has been providing plastic and reconstructive services to the Colorado Western Slope Region since July 1996.  His extensive medical and surgical training spans over 10 years.  He attended Johns Hopkins University as an undergraduate student and then the Chicago Medical School.  In 1992 he completed a General Surgery Residency at the University of Colorado.  A one-year Research fellowship with the Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Colorado followed.  Dr. Urban has advanced training in burn care and held a clinical teaching appointment at the Sumner L. Koch Burn Unit at Chicago's Cook County Hospital.  Finally, in 1996, Dr. Urban completed a two-year residency in Plastic Surgery at the University of Kentucky.

Publications and Presentations

Dr. Urban's nationally published papers and presentations include such topics as microvascular repair, facial trauma, and repair of congenital skull defects.

Hobbies and Interests

Dr. Urban has two young children.  He enjoys downhill skiing, hiking and fishing.
