Professional Background

Dr. Lowe was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas graduating with a pre-medical focus with a B.A. in history. He attended The University of Oklahoma School of Medicine, graduating in 1992. He completed five years of training in General Surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center in 1997 and is boarded by the American Board of Surgery. He completed the prestigious Plastic Surgery residency at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 1999; and a hand, nerve, and microsurgical fellowship at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in 2000. Dr. Lowe is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has a certificate of added qualification in Hand Surgery.

After the completion of his training, Dr. Lowe then joined the faculty at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and was promoted to Assistant Professor of Surgery. In 2002, he received a M.B.A. in Health Sciences Management at Washington University’s Olin School of Business. Dr. Lowe has continued to be involved in resident education and his research has focused on peripheral nerve surgery, potency following prostatectomy, cosmetic surgery, ethnic aging, and optimizing health management and efficiency.

Dr. Lowe became the Chief of the Section of Cosmetic Surgery at the Washington University School of Medicine in 2004. He serves on various boards and committees, and has presented papers nationally. His wife, Julie, is a dermatologist and they have two wonderful boys, James and Jake. He is strongly committed to family, patient care, and academic pursuits of excellence.
