Professional Background

Dr. Finkler graduated from The Ohio State University, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society. He then served his internship at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After completing a tour of duty at Mather United States Air Force Base in Sacramento, he returned to Pittsburgh to finish his general surgery residency.

Dr. Jon G. Finkler completed his residency in plastic surgery at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, and earned certification in this specialty from the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Teaching Appointments

Dr. Finkler has held several important posts in his career as a plastic surgeon. In the Sacramento area, at Mercy San Juan Hospital, he has served as Chief of Staff, Chief of Plastic Surgery, and Chief of Surgery. In addition, Dr. Finkler is a former Associate Clinical Professor in the Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of California, Davis.
