Q:

Is a breast lift surgery with implants a good idea for saggy DD breasts?

Recently I lost 20 kg and lost a lot of weight in my breasts.  Now I have loose skin causing my breasts to sag.  When they are in a bra they look fine and sit normally.  However, when the bra comes off they sag down.  I want to get a breast lift with implants to get that full look (I want them to look full and sit up roundly if that makes sense).  Would it be better to get a breast reduction to get rid of the fat in my breasts and then get implants to fill in all the loose skin?

A:

Tayla,

Based on your stated goal of being "full and sit up," you are probably seeking a mastopexy. If you want a fuller look than you have now, then breast implants may be in order. Depending on the scope of the mastopexy, you may want to consider performing the lift and augmentation in stages. Consult with 3 - 4 experienced and expert board certified plastic surgeons to explore your options.

Q:

Can I have a tummy tuck, breast lift and fat transfer all in one day?

I am 38 years old, weigh 133 pounds and my height is 4'11" - can I safely have a tummy tuck, breast lift, and fat transfer all at the same time?

A:

Joyce,

Yes, it is possible to have a combination of body contouring and breast enhancement procedures provided that you are in good health and the total time under anesthesia is safe. The combination is frequently called a "mommy makeover," and is becoming increasingly popular.

Q:

Is it possible to have a breast reduction in only one breast to make the size of both breasts even?

Is it possible to even out the breasts by only doing a breast reduction on one breast and not touching the other one?  My breasts are noticeably two different sizes, one cup size D and the other size DD. I only want to reduce the size of the DD breast, and not bother with the size D in breast in any way.

A:

It is possible to perform breast reduction on one breast. To determine if this is the best option for you, you will need an in person exam and consultation. Consult in person with 3 - 4 experienced and expert board certified plastic surgeons.

Q:

Will a breast lift after augmentation with saline implants 16 years ago be of benefit now?

I had breast augmentation with saline implants 16 years ago.  Would a breast lift now be of benefit to me?

A:

A breast lift can be performed while maintaining the breast implants implanted 16 years ago. However, in person exam and consultation to review objectives, lifestyle, and lifestage should be done to determine if a breast lift would benefit you. If you want to provide a perkier appearance to your breasts, then a lift may be beneficial.
