Dr. Chin is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (one of the boards recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties) after passing a rigorous written and oral examination.

Professional Background

Mark A. Chin, MD, MPH is a native Californian. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, he attended college in San Jose earning a baccalaureate degree in biochemistry. Dr. Chin has been interested in many public health issues, such as anti-aging, the mental and physical health affects of morbid obesity and massive weight loss and breast cancer with subsequent mastectomy defects, and pursued a masters degree graduating from University of California, Berkeley with a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree complementing his medical training.

After receiving his medical degree at the Medical College of Virginia he trained in general surgery at the renowned Loma Linda University Medical Center in southern California. He completed his seven years of surgical training receiving extensive training in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco, one of the oldest plastic surgery training programs in the states.
