Dr. Ralph Bashioum was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and attended Arizona State University. Upon graduating Summa Cum Laude from the chemistry Honors Program, Dr. Bashioum continued his education as a chemistry graduate student at the University of Utah. There, he earned his Medical Doctorate from the Surgery Honors Program in 1978.
Dr. Bashioum’s post graduate studies continued at Northwestern University as a general surgery resident for three years, followed by three years of additional training in the specialty of plastic surgery.

Dr. Bashioum is also an avid gardener, and you may recognize him as a regular guest expert on HGTV’s “Grow It!” When he’s not in the office, Dr. Bashioum is often found in his garden growing unusual fruits and vegetables. He served as a board member for the MN Landscape Arboretum and was appointed as a Lifetime Honorary Trustee.
During his active tenure, he created an award-winning website for the Arboretum, as well as “Northern Lights Gardening” – a weekly live call-in radio magazine promoting the Arboretum.

Dr. Bashioum is committed to maintaining his relationship with Lindsay, his wife of 30 years and their children Joshua and Ashley. They are avid travelers and enjoy the adventure of exploring culture through food and wine.
