I am interested in forehead contouring! I have two bumps slightly above my eyebrows. What kind of procedure would be needed to take care of this problem?
A:
The bumps you mention can be a variety of things which might require different treatments.
If the bumps are just off the central forehead above the brow, they are most likely prominent muscles. If they are firm, they may be bony growths or prominences. Soft tissue fullness may be fat or fatty tumors.
A browlift via an open or endoscopic approach would allow the diagnosis and treatment of many of these issues. However, consultation with a plastic surgeon would allow evaluation of these masses and proper treatment planning.
Good luck.

I am 18 years old and have problems with the weight of my breasts. At what age can I consider having breast reduction surgery?
A:
My criteria for reduction surgery in your age group is that there be minimal change in the breast volume for a period of six months. If your breast volume has been stable over this period of time, you are a candidate for the surgery now.

I'm interested in getting buttock augmentation. I have been reading up on the procedure. I cannot afford any kind of implants. Can the buttock augmentation be done solely with fat injections?
A:
Absolutely. This is my preferred technique. The volume available for augmentation is determined by the amount of excess fat present at the time of surgery. This can be determined during your consultation with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.

I am 53 years old and although my neck is tight, it looks very gaunt. When I smile it appears stringy vertically. My face is smooth and without sag, but I have very fine thin skin. For my age I have less than average wrinkles and no visable pores. I cannot see that a neck lift could help me as I feel if anything my skin looks TOO tight and I need more fat to hide the stringiness. What procedure do you suggest is needed to make improvement in my appearance?
A:
The stringiness you describe is most likely the platysma muscle which becomes visible through the skin when you animate. Botox is a good solution for diminishing the bands which you describe.
Volume replacement in the neck is tricky as the skin is so thin, anything can be visible. I have used Sculptra to increase volume in the neck with nice improvement.
I recommend meeting with one of our Board Certified Plastic Surgeons to discuss your options.
Good luck.

Is there such a procedure as removing fatty tissue from the abdomen area and placing it into the buttocks?
A:
Absolutely. Liposuction is performed on the abdomen and other areas of excess fat and this can be transferred to the buttock to restore or create a beautiful buttock. The procedure is done on an outpatient basis and the results are excellent. Not only do you enhance the appearance of the buttock, but you also remove unwanted fat from areas which concern you. I hope this is helpful.
