Is possible to fix a crooked nose placing fat?
I had a revision rhinoplasty. A graft was used to fix the over resected dorsum, but this is now moved to the left, I think it is too big for my nose, because I can feel it almost almost in my forehead, between the eyes brows. Is it possible to fix it placing my own fat and make it look not so crooked or is necessary to go under a third rhinoplasty?
A:
Revision Rhinoplasty and the Use of Fat – A temporary way to camouflage a crooked nose may be to use fat, however, it is not very effective. A hyaluronic acid filler may be more effective and is what I prefer. Certainly, both are only temporizing to cosmetically camouflage the deformities. Also, it does not correct the functional part of a crooked nose which would be correction of the septal deviation and internal nasal valve deformity.

I have been to two different plastic surgeons for a consultation on a brow lift. They agree on the fact that I need a brow lift but they disagree on the procedure. One has suggested an endoscopic brow lift and the other a coronal brow lift. I am 46 and have low eyebrows but not a significant amount of loose skin on my forehead. The coronal lift seems very invasive but I have heard that the endoscopic lift doesn't work as well. What are the statistics?

Different Types of Browlifts – As you age, different types of browlifts are needed. For example, a patient may need an endotemporal browlift if they have lateral brow ptosis only. Infrequently, I do a full coronal browlift unless the patient has good hair, a low brow, or have significant rhytids and want significant brow elevation. I perform this operation which is less than 10% of my patients currently.

Fat Injections in Lower Legs and Calves – For shaping and contouring, most of the time one has to perform finesse liposuction. However, you can perform shaping and contouring of the calves with fat augmentation in these areas.

I had Juvederm to correct nasolabial folds in my face. After the procedure, I've noticed how asymmetrical my face is. I actually look like a stroke patient. What can be done to correct this?
A:
Juvederm and Nasolabial Fold Correction – Juvederm is a very good filler to use for nasolabial correction if it is not significantly deep. If nasolabial folds are deep, I use a deeper layer filler such as Radiesse concomitant with a filler such as Juvederm. Of course, everyone is asymmetric so correction has to be done asymmetrically often. If the jowls are deep enough then a facelift should be considered done concomitantly with nasolabial fold fat compartments.

Can fat be injected into hollow upper eyelids?
I have hollow looking eyes after a blepharoplasty procedure. My excess skin is gone but I feel like I look much older now than before my surgery. Can my hollow upper eyelids be corrected with fat injections?
A:
Fat and Correction of Hollow Eyelids – It is very common to use filler or fat to correct some of the hollowing, however this must be done very carefully and cautiously and a small amount placed just in the upper brow/eyelid area. Otherwise, it will not look normal.
