Internationally recognized throughout the industry for plastic surgery leadership and innovation, Dr. Stevens is frequently called on to give time to helping advance the field. He has served as a clinical investigator for a variety of breast implants, for instance, for U.S. government organizations such as the FDA and for private companies. Dr. Stevens is also recognized as an expert by the media.

Graduating with honors from Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, Dr. Stevens returned to Washington University-Barnes Hospital three years later to complete fellowships in Hand Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. In the interim he took his general surgery training at Harbor UCLA Medical Center.

Teaching Appointments

Dr. Stevens is currently on the Plastic Surgery faculty of UCLA and USC. He has been an invited visiting professor at Loma Linda University, The University of Switzerland and The University of Denmark.

Publications and Presentations

Throughout his career, Dr. Stevens has been a prolific writer, with dozens of articles and papers published in journals such as The American Journal of Surgery, the Annals of Plastic Surgery and Cosmetic Plastic Surgery Times.

Dr. Stevens has also been interviewed for articles in USA Today, People Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Beauty, Forbes, Glamour, Cosmetic Plastic Surgery Times, Business Week, Men's Fitness, LA Times Magazine, Longevity, Cooking Light, Discovery and numerous newspapers.

Dr. Stevens is often tapped to assist other surgeons to further develop their skills. Along with his ongoing and visiting professorships in the U.S., Sweden and Denmark, he has delivered more than 50 lectures and presentations in national, international and institutional settings. He has also chaired several international symposia on liposuction, laser surgery, wound management and more.

Hobbies and Interests

Dr. Stevens enjoys volunteering his time to serve the communities in which he lives and practices. He has been actively involved with the Venice, California, Boys and Girls Club for nearly 20 years, serving on the Board of Directors in the mid ‘90s. He is also a leader in the Marina del Rey Chamber of Commerce and is a member and past President of the Native Sons of the Golden West.
