After nine months, the implants have proven to be both painful and impractical for Montag's lifestyle. She claims that she is now barely able to exercise or wear clothing off the rack. Additionally, the procedure has left her back aching – a condition that she did not previously have.
She now has to find a plastic surgeon who understands her present condition to perform her breast replacement surgery.
For women considering breast augmentation, Montag’s story highlights the need to carefully consider appropriate implant size and speak to their plastic surgeon about risks.
When going for a consultation, patients should give their surgeon insight into their lifestyle and alert them of previous surgeries and medical conditions in a full medical history.
