Idaho woman arrested for impersonating plastic surgeon

Police in Boise, Idaho, recently arrested a woman who impersonated a plastic surgeon and performed at least two examinations on local residents at area nightclubs, the Associated Press reports.

Employees at a plastic surgery office in downtown Boise became suspicious earlier this month when a pair of women arrived at their building and asked to see Dr. Berlyn
Aussieahshowna. As it turns out, that was the pseudonym given by Kristina B. Ross who had been giving out the office number of a real plastic surgeon and masquerading as a doctor.

Police were alerted and able to identify the 37-year-old Ross through interviews with those claiming to be examined by her. They then discovered that she was not a licensed physician and arrested her.

While in jail, police discovered a warrant for her arrest under the name Kristoffer Jon Ross, which indicates that Ross is transgendered. She is being held in the female county jail because she now identifies herself as a woman.

Those who are considering plastic surgery should be certain that they visit with a board certified doctor who is certified to perform such procedures. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery provides resources such as Find-a-Surgeon to make it easier for patients to choose a respected physician.
