What are your wrinkles telling you?
What are your wrinkles telling you?

Have you ever been to a palm reader? These clairvoyant individuals claim that the lines on our hands tell a story about our lives. Is it possible that those pesky wrinkles on your face could also be trying to tell you something? Here are some interpretations you might pick up on the next time you look in the mirror.

Change your sleep routine
How many hours of sleep you get a night has a major impact on your overall health and wellness. If you're not getting a healthy amount of rest, you'll likely be stressed during your waking hours, which could translate into serious issues for your skin. On top of that, if you spend every single night sleeping in the same position, some of the lines in your face may be due to gravity's pull on your skin while you're getting your shuteye. Perhaps the lines on your face are telling you to sleep on your stomach or side more often.

It's time to start eating at home
It can be difficult to cook every meal at home when you have a busy work schedule, but dining in can have a big impact on your health. Options are limited when you order from takeout joints or restaurants, and you can never be sure what sort of ingredients are going into prepared food. If you cook more often at home, however, you will be able to control what goes into your cuisine - meaning you can add skin-friendly foods like kale, spinach, cranberries and walnuts to your diet.

Repack your purse
Sure, you slather on the suntan lotion when you go to the beach or exercise outside, but what about when you go for a long drive? There are likely many times during your day when you're exposed to the sun without even realizing it. If you keep a moisturizer with SPF in your handbag, you'll be able to refresh and protect your skin throughout the day, thus preventing wrinkles.

It's time for a tune-up
Perhaps those wrinkles on your face are simply the cause of aging and genetics. If so, then your best option is to visit a board-certified plastic surgeon for an aesthetic tune-up. Botox injections are getting more affordable every year, and they carry very few side-effects, meaning you won't have to worry about taking time off from work.
