According to the statistics from a leading medical center in the United Kingdom, an increasing number of women over the age of 50 are opting for cosmetic injectables and skin treatments. The most popular procedures for older women are those that are aimed at reducing the signs of aging, such as Botox injections, dermal fillers and laser treatments, the British newspaper the Daily Mail reports.

Families raise funds for reconstructive surgery at recent Halloween event

Parents and children who recently attended The Pottery Barn Kids' Halloween Festival were treated to arts and crafts, pumpkin decorating and a petting zoo. But while the Los Angeles, California, event celebrated the fall season, it also served as a fund raiser for Operation Smile, a nonprofit group that supports reconstructive surgery to correct cleft lips and cleft palates for children around the globe.

Texas medical center stresses importance of plastic surgery education

Though the University of Texas' Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas has been most renowned for its work pertaining to diabetes, cancer and neurology, the institution has recently made an effort to educate the public regarding plastic surgery procedures, according to Fort Worth Texas' Star-Telegram.

The chairman of the plastic surgery department at the center says that keeping the public abreast of the important role that plastic surgery can play is important.
