Welcome

Plan to attend The Aesthetic Meeting 2007 — "Be a Part of it"

Please join us in celebration of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery’s 40th Anniversary by participating in this year’s American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Inc. (ASAPS) and the Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation (ASERF) Aesthetic Meeting – “Be a Part of It”, April 19-24, 2007 at Javits Convention Center in New York City.

As ASAPS President, I would like to express my heart-felt gratitude and appreciation to all who have contributed to providing you an exciting, interactive educational and scientific forum not to be missed. The ASAPS/ASERF meeting is dedicated 100 percent to the cosmetic plastic surgery subspecialty. We hope to make it a block buster year where you will have the opportunity to access new and updated information that will benefit your cosmetic surgery education and practice. Our Program format has been carefully designed by some of the top board-certified plastic surgeons who made every effort to balance traditional and innovative techniques so that you take away from the meeting some of the best options and approaches to implement within your cosmetic surgery practice. I encourage you to review the “Week-at-a-Glance” for complete details.

One distinct mark of the ASAPS / ASERF Meeting is that it offers plastic surgeons the exclusive opportunity, in a surgeon-to-surgeon setting, to openly share pearls of wisdom and discuss surgical experiences on an array of challenges and accomplishments in cosmetic surgery. One objective as president is to offer engaging and educational presentations by our speakers that will cover a broad range of surgical results, provide key information on timely topics and address current issues facing plastic surgeons today. You will have the distinguished benefit to interact with speakers and colleagues that will hopefully enhance your aesthetic practice and surgical techniques.

The Aesthetic Meeting 2007 will showcase a variety of Special Presentations by surgeons with vast knowledge and experience in a particular area of aesthetic surgery. It will also feature useful tips and presentations on new devices and techniques from our international colleagues who often have the opportunity to implement them before they reach the U.S.

One of the most important goals this year, as ASAPS President, is to foster patient safety through education. The Aesthetic Society continues diligently to advance a “culture of safety” that is underlined in every aspect of our organization as well as the scientific and educational courses. In fact, a range of courses have been developed to provide accurate, up-to-date information and introduce proven methods to improve the level of safety in your practice. Look for this symbol throughout this website identifying courses that qualify toward the ASAPS and ASPS requirement of 20 patient safety CME credits over a three-year period.

The Aesthetic Meeting 2007 promises to be a well rounded experience and I encourage you to register early to get your first-choice courses. New York City offers a variety of social, cultural and recreational activities for your family members and spouse/accompanying guest to enjoy. Please register online. We will be sending program updates via email and updating this web site.

I look forward to seeing you in New York City!

James M. Stuzin, MD, President
