If you are a citizen of the U.S., its territories or Canada and in at least your third year of active plastic surgery practice following certification by the American Board of Plastic surgery (ABS), or certification in plastic surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, you may be eligible to apply for ASAPS Active Membership.

Obtain sponsorship of two ASAPS Active Members, one sponsor practicing in the same geographic region but not an associate within the same plastic surgery practice. Your sponsor will arrange for application materials to be sent to you from the ASAPS Central Office.

Application Deadline July 1

Plastic surgeons who submit their applications for membership in the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) by the deadline are eligible for election to membership in the spring of the following year. A nominal fee to cover administrative expenses associated with your application is required at the time you apply.

Applicants meeting the requirements are recommended by the Membership Committee and must then be approved by at least four-fifths of the Board of Directors to be named on the official ballot for vote by the Active Membership. An affirmative vote of at least four fifths of the Active Membership present at the annual Business Meeting is required for election to membership.
